Glad to share. Yes barnbum, the quilting is entirely by hand. Back then I think she did it as kind of a show off piece. I say 'show off but I really should say 'display' because of her religious beliefs and the way she viewed things. Her quilting is very tight compared to my granny (grandfather's sister). But the quilts from both are still valued by us. My granny's quilt the folks have is a really cool, but then you turn it over and it has the ugliest flannel backing I've ever seen. I guess it was making the most of what she had, which is cool (warm) too when I come to think of it. Waste not, want not...

This particular quilt is very nice, but one thing I note is it’s one that is so heavily quilted you wouldn’t want to sleep under it; yet another consideration when quilting!
