Thank you, Irisrose, it looks like nice wood, but I don't know much about cabinets, and the woods that were used.
ArchaicArcane, I've been reading a lot about Restor-A-Finish, and Feed'N'Wax. I thought maybe painting everything, but the top and drawer and leaving that the color of the wood. I've just been removing the finish, that is on there for now.
