I use my IPad more than my regular computer. I use it for Google, Quiltingboard and other sites. I have downloaded apps for games and Missouri Star Quilt co. It has a nice little pop up keyboard for most of my message needs. Some people use them to bring up coupons for shopping and the clerk scans the Ipad. You still need to link up with your regular computer if you want to print something out. I have my email on it and you can get an app for texting as well. I use the camera for taking photos but I haven't been able to upload to QB yet. I can take a picture of what is on my screen to save the information for later. You can use it as an alarm clock. You can view books or magazines. You can do lots of other things too but I am just learning as I go.
