I hand-quilted my first one, then machine-quilted after that, but I've never sent a quilt out to be quilted. I don't have anything against the people who do, but for me, I feel that the quilting is just as much of a design decision as the rest of it, and I wouldn't feel as much ownership over the finished product. I want to do it all, from start to finish.
