The hand embroidery work of these women is just amazing and wonderful, an inspiration to those of us who still do redwork or other embroidery by hand. It just outshines today's machine embroideries by a mile.
I also love reading the names of the women who made this 'back in the day'. Many young moms are returning to some of these rarely-used-any-more names.....Ruby, Mary, Esther, Evelyn, Grace, Olive, Kate, and others. It brings hope of the continuity of things in our life.
What a precious memory and family heritage you have there.
