Please post a photo of your jelly roll with the "wrong" dimensions so that we can see whether you need to cut some off, add some on or shift things. The first jelly roll I made had only 24 strips and ended up longer than wide. Aesthetically it was just the wrong shape, so I added borders to two sides and it turned out just fine.
