Agreed. Too many people want a get rich quick scheme.
I think antiques / vintage and collectables have always been a victim of this.

Usually, if I'm selling something, I try to average the selling prices of items that are in approximately the same shape as what I'm selling. Anything obscenely high, and obscenely low I'll exclude from the average.
What I can't figure out is what ebay sellers are trying to do? Drive the prices up? What does it get them to have to list their wares over and over again because no one will pay $900 for a 1950s model 99 in a table?
