Default Our first vintage machine

It's tucked away so it sometimes gets forgotten but more than a year ago we picked up a Singer treadle at an antique sale. We had no idea what it was other than we had been assured it worked and the cabinet was nice. I wanted to try sewing again and figured that people powered was more my speed. We figured out what it was, got a repro manual, put a belt on it, oiled it up, threaded it up and nothing. Everything turned freely but the fabric wasn't moving. AAARGGHH! Played with it some more then checked out the manual more closely. It's a 9W - you push the handwheel away to instead of pulling it toward you. Oops! After that it worked but it was (still is) annoying to push the handwheel away so I didn't spend any time on it. Maybe it's time to try it again while I work on some of the other machines but regardless I'll probably use its base for some of the other machines when I'm using them.
