These are the instructions that are on the quilts.com site:

I put an extra 1/2" give into my sleeves, and place them ~3/4" down from the edge of the quilt (including the binding), which is a bit different from the above instructions.
They've always hung straight, although never in Houston. ;-)

Congratulations on that!!!

You can baste your sleeve on and stick a dowel in it to see how it hangs - you want to make sure the sleeve doesn't show over the top of the quilt, and that the top edge of the quilt doesn't bend or pucker forward.
Obviously, much easier on a small wall hanging than a big bed-sized quilt.
