Thank you for your replies. The quilt isn't mine; I was hired to attach the binding and the sleeve. The client requested that the sleeve be attached under the binding. I guess I'll ask her how she wants to proceed from here, since the pros recommend the sleeve be attached lower!
And I didn't mean to mislead everyone when I said the quilt will be in Houston - it will be hanging in a vendor's booth, not the show itself. My client was approached by a fabric manufacturer (Clothworks) who liked her quilt. They requested she write up a pattern for it and make a display quilt in their fabrics.
