I guess you're all right. I thought about maybe doing Danish flags for the backs, since they would be so simple to throw together. I've visited several times, but it is hard to know what to pick from their culture to sew. If I were doing cross stitch, Kronborg Castle (known as "Hamlet's castle" because it was the setting in Shakespeare's play), Eremitage Palace on the king's old hunting grounds (surrounded by red dear), or anything Hand Christian Andersen would be most appropriate.

So for a traditional American front, a log cabin or 9 patch? I'm not sure I have enough stash built up for much variety of fabrics for a log cabin, but I am going to Joann tomorrow so I can see what they have. If anyone has other suggestions for a good placemat block, I'm all ears!
