There is a version like Sunbonnet Sue that looks like little dutch girls. It might be that version you have. It sounds really cute and if it is feed sacks I would look for some 1930 reproduction fabrics to do the sashing. I would outline quilt the figures first. I would quilt a pattern in the sashing like rope, chain or vines with leaves. After that was done I would go back in and individually quilt inside the figures around the arms, apron etc. Are you going to hand quilt or machine quilt?
