I looked at the site you provided. The quilt looks like a 9-piece Shuffle with strips. I saw this on Sewing with Nancy. You stack nine squares of fabric. and slash them into 9 pieces. The you shuffle the pieces by taking the top piece in the first stack and putting it on the bottom, then the top 2 of the second stack and put them on the bottom. the the top three of the nest stack and put them on the bottom. You continue this until the last stack and you leave it as is. Now you should have nine different layers. You sew each layer back together to get nine different blocks. It looks like someone as added narrow strips between the pieces to get the shattered look. I have attached a pic of a nine piece shuffle. Good luck.
