The easiest way to get them to be all slashed in the same place .... stack them up into one pile. Or if too many fabrics, then two piles, etc.

At the end you will need to square them all up, as they may have gotten slightly off-sized or off-square with all the slashing, piecing and stitching.
QuiltE is right on. I do have a pattern from an old magazine , and if you'll pm me with your e-mail, I'll be happy to send it to you. I've done several, and depending on your choice of fabrics, it can look like stained glass. Super easy and FAST since you're making six big blocks at one time. Lots of fun.
