Since your bottom is removeable, couldn't you just use 2 small pieces of the plastic (used for attaching feet), one on each side of the bottom, maybe 1 1/2 inches by the width of the bottom, attach the feet and put the removable bottom back on top. Maybe even 4 independent squares one for each foot.
