You say you learned a lesson to speak your mind? Well here's what's on my mind... I love, love, love that quilt top! If it was for sale I would buy it! Its NOT even close to ugly! It looks so retro... like something from the 50's. "Use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without!" I think the fact that the fabrics do not match is what gives it so much character!Maybe my colors are not showing as vivid as some here describe this quilt; it looks busy, but not neon bright to me. I swear I want one like it! Its awesome and you did a fantastic job! Oh and BTW... I checked out the tutorial and plan to try to make one very similar. (Wondering what size strips you used.)
