Thank you! I have several quilts in progress so will try out some of your suggestions. My mistake on using the word "traditional". I actually meant the more commercial bedding. Although I did get an Amish-made double wedding ring quilt as a gift for my wedding, and it is thicker than the low-loft cotton batting that I had previously seen recommended. Not sure what they used, but maybe they used 2 layers or a combo poly/cotton.
