Default My batik Turning Twenty

I recently bought a batik collection from Connecting Threads and was very happy with them. I made this Turning Twenty for a friend's daughter who got married in Sept. Their favorite colors are purple & orange. I couldn't face the thought of just those colors for a quilt that will hopefully be around and a favorite for a long time. So, I talked to the bride's mom & sister and gave them several options and they thought this one would be a good match. It was bright, and had both oranges and purples in it, and the couple loved it! I quilted it myself on my little home machine. In the large squares I put a different flower (fmq'd) and then just SID around all of the rest. I'm attaching my favorite one- the sunflower. I looked at a picture and then did my own thing. Pretty much what I did with all of the rest- daisy, tulips, etc. It was a lot of fun. I did get one flower upside down, but we'll just make that an "eye spy". :-)
