Nell ... sorry your chair didn't work out for you. But this chair DOES
both swivel and goes up and down very smoothly!! And I did try that out in the store, as I had to *power it down* to get it in the back seat of my Jetta!!! For a minute there, I didn't think it was gonna fit, but it did!! lol
