I like the back better and a wholecloth jacket.
I had posted a red wholecloth, but I didn't like the pointed ends on the star. I changed it to a different feather motif and was happy. But as I worked I really liked the back. And I have the perfect home for it. I show quilts at an assisted living next Monday and it matches their Burgandy accents perfectly.
As I worked on the second wholecloth, I kept seeing the design on a jacket. The star motif is center on the shoulder blades, not centered on the jacket to avoid that bullseye look. It is also on the top of the sleeve with only half the design. It took some thinking but I got the effect of a a bound quilted piece for the neck band. The jacket needs to be bound on the bottom and hand sewn down on the front band. But it fits and I am happy with it.
