I have had my Janome 10001 for about three years and really like it. My Janome 9000 was 13 yrs old (like someone else said about theres) and my DH said I needed a new one. Yes, they are pricey, so if you just want to quilt and sew with out the embroidery feature Janome has several other nice models which are less expensive. Go to a dealer and try them out.
