Default First Time Posting Pictures of One of My Quilts ~ Breast Cancer Comfort Quilt

A young Mom in a Bible Study group I attend is battling breast cancer, it is a particularily aggressive cancer. I've been told that Chemo can at times make the patient cold so I decided that I would make her a flannel lap quilt and matching tote to carry to treatments.

It is all Breast Cancer awareness flannels, the pattern is Cathedral Windows or sometimes I guess called Pickle Dish. The batting was very light weight flannel. Made with the Circle Magic template. I really enjoy the Circle Magic template as there is no binding it a finished edge.

I didn't like the way the petals appeared (at intersections) with the flannels so I took the scraps of fabric and made the Yo Yo's to cover those intersections. The tote is just a simple bag for her to carry the quilt to treatments.

The label "What Cancer Cannot Do" was done by one of our members here, who does all my labels SewnSewer2.

I presented her the quilt on Tuesday and I must admit when I read the label to her I got pretty choked up and the group of about 20 women were all pretty teary eyed too.
