Default Question about charity quilt size

A group of us ladies at church have started to make charity quilts, but we can't seem to agree on the size the quilts should be. Presently we are making them 72 x 100 ish. The gal heading this up talked to another group and they make their quilts a little longer as there were complaints of them being too short. Hence the 100 ish length.

I know we should talk to the people receiving them, but they could be going anywhere, Haiti, Romania for starters. When they go to Romania, they would be for a single sized bed, for a woman. I've also heard it said that if the quilts are too big they cut them in half! That being said, is there a standard size that quilting groups use?

I hope someone can point us in the right direction!
