I would think yes. The finished squares are 7 1/2" and the sashing finish at 1" (cut 1 1/2"). It could definitely be more scrappy. You would have different borders though. That wouldn't be a problem 'cuz we all change patterns to fit our capabilities and likes anyway! Go ahead give it a try!
