Due to the shape/sizes of your blocks I can see that one done in Christmas fabrics. It would look like ornaments.

Justin is 9 and I think eventually his sister will get onto quilting too, she's already made a little project, her own placemat, but she's still only 6 and you can't get her to sit and concentrate on something for too long but we will get there....
