Mirabelle--I have several of the Shimmer line. Haven't bought the border print yet, since I am not sure how much I will need. Since I work at the shop once a week, I keep an eye on it to make sure it isn't gone when I need it.
How does the "Micro Stitch basting tool" for for pinning layers together? I looked it up and see how it works in general, but for the layers, how do you get it lined up just right before "basting"? Looks like it could make life easier.
Dublb--if you have 4 repeats, you can do a "4-patch" kaleidoscope like I did with the butterflies. You just stack the 4 repeats and decide what size squares you want (remembering that you put 4 together, so what size block?). You can put them in the middle of "star" blocks or sash and join. I don't mind cutting out triangles, but it sure went quick when I did those few blocks the other day! The larger blocks use 3 1/2" squares and the smaller ones are 2 1/2" squares. I miss cut one of each size so a couple are smaller.
