I couldn't get by without hankies!!! If I get the sniffles and use paper tissues my nose turns red and hurts. I have a few allergies and can't be sure if it is something in the manufacture of tissues, or, as someone told me with great authority, particles of the tissue themselves (they are basically made of wood, like all paper, I presume.

Sadly my hankies are disolving with age and use. It especially hurts that my mother's hankies are gone! I have looked for hankies and finally bought some from China after seeing a notice on this QB. They came in goodly fashion, but they are all cotton, but printed, not sewn! Printed lace, printed flowers, etc. A far cry from the hankies that Mama had! Maybe with some clever on-line hunting someone could find some that are suitable for a wedding. Hmmm, do wedding shops possibly sell real, lovely hankies. How could they not! The traditional "something blue" or "something old" frequently was a hankie (in the olden days when I got married).
