We had a similar incident back in the 70's. My brother's band had a trailer with their instruments stolen while they were eating at a restaurant. They found them all the next day at a pawn shop. They identified them by serial numbers, had the police report but still had to buy them back. Still it only cost them a couple hundred dollars to get their thousands of dollars worth and they were glad to be able to continue playing. Maybe this would help your theft.
