Well, I got my new sewing machine in, and though I've yet to fire it up (or even take it out of the box-SELF CONTROL!! LOL) I've started on my first project. I also ordered a small cutting board and rotary cutter. (As for the cutter, all I can say is - WOW! Where has this been all my life??)
I spent most of the evening cutting the pieces for my first quilt, and matching them up into blocks. As much as I want to move forward, I am stopping here. It's after midnight, the dogs are hungry, and I still have to test-sew on the machine before I even BEGIN to get involved in this! LOL.
This will be a quilt for my niece; she is the first girl in this generation, as she has a brother, and two male cousins, as well as 3 male second cousins! (needless to say she's spoiled!) She was born this past March, so I'm making her a pink and green quilt for her first Christmas.
I also have a new nephew born at the end of August, so I need to get cracking and make a blue one too!
Wish me luck! (Here's the cut pieces matched up in their blocks.)
