To audition my prints to see if I think they would look good cut into five inch squares - I cut a piece of template plastic into a five inch square and then used the 1/4 inch quilting/masking tape to cover the edges that would be taken up by the seams.
Thanks for the demo, that is what I did with one of my fabrics that my objects to find couldn't be seen very easily.
