I was pretty nervous about it, but I bought some wide adding machine tape to draw my border on & double check my measurements. This I pinned to the border & stitched over to get the scallop down (like doing paper piecing) . I used Zimmerman's Easy Scallop tool (also comes with easy-to-understand directions) and the scallop was near perfect.
