Default Would it be OK to tie a GFG?

I was shopping thrift stores with my friend, when she found this hand sewn GFG for $14. She always finds deals on quilts & tops at thrift stores. I'd complained to her previously that I've never found deals like that, so she offered it to me to buy. I bought it, and I would like to finish it and give it to her for Christmas. I am planning on squaring up the top, sides, and bottom. In order for me to get it completed by Christmas, I would have to tie it, as I have never machine quilted, and know of no LA in the area.

So my question is, would it be OK to tie this quilt? The hexagons are 2 1/2 inches from point to point. I will probably be using a poly batt that is OK for tying.
