My grandfather had 5 boys but my Mom was his favorite son, at least that is what she loves to say. My grandfather taught her all he knew of building. My Mom is 65 so back then it was not something that most girls did like we do now. Growing up, if anything ever broke or needed to be done my Mom did it while Dad sat on the couch watching sports. Of course my Dad was a hard worker but not of the around the house variety. They are both retired now and my Mom just loves to build things. Her Christmas list is more woodworking tools.
She said she is coming over tomorrow to help me turn my spare room into a crafting room so I'm pretty excited to see what we can come up with. My husband is a lot like my father. A hard worker but not handy around the house. My Mom comes over to do any of the fixing. She is in her element and enjoys it so who am I to dissuade her lol. Especially since we both benefit from it.
