Default Old Top Bought at Auction

This quilt top was bought at an auction by a lady and she wanted me to finish and repair it. It was quite a challenge, to say the least . It was pieced using polyester, jaquard, cotton, and who knows what else. It as was sewn by hand and machine, and some of the seams were over an inch wide and some just didn't even exist. So lots of holes and lots of puckers.

She didn't want me to fix it to be perfect because she loved the character of it. So I fixed the huge holes and puckers and quilted it with a semi dense pattern to help hold it together for years to come. It is definitely not square and I also had to trim about 4 to 8 inches off all the sides to straighten it up a little bit. It is still huge.

I delivered it to her office and got the biggest hug! Talk about a great feeling. One of her daughter works in the same department as my hubby and was just gushing about how she gets to have it when her mother passes (a long time from now lol) and how she just loved it.

Thank you for looking.
