I've had a hand in two such quilts. One was over a thousand pieces in 9 patches, all polyester. Her daughter-in-law asked me to help her tie it so it would be finished. I don't remember what she did with it, but it was very pretty.
The other was a quilt that my tenant's brother had used for years and really needed work. I took off the old back, found a new one, straightened the edges and put on a binding. Then my tenant, the sister-in-law and I tied it. It so resembled the one in the picture, it is eerie. It had the same rows of colors changing to other colors in the other rows. But it will last for many more years. Polyester never wears out.
I hope the one you worked on doesn't either.
