Thank you so much for your replies. He has been much more than the "usual doctor" and has several Arabic "signs" in his office which I have not asked to be translated. Other than that, I want him to have a special gift.
I like the medical symbol and the heart symbols both and may incorporate something like that. OTOH, I love the complicated tile patterns. Again, my objective in asking is to know the appropriateness of the subject.
I am an ordained minister and love when people give me faith related items, coffee cups, etc. for my office.
