Anael, I wanted a dark background too but not black. I found a batik that was kinda dark blue with some purple in it. I really wanted a dark purple but couldn't find what I wanted.I used brights mostly batiks. I look forward to seeing your blocks.
Nicky I love your quilt. I still need to piece my back so I can either quilt it or take it to the longarmer. Not sure which i will do yet. Probably will send it out to be quilted it is pretty big and I want the quilting to be special. This is my quilt, I plan on keeping it.
Mona Lisa I love the Mariner Compass stars. I hadn't seen that book. I am jumping right into another paper piecing project. I plan on joining the New York Beauty group. I am hoping to do it totally scrappy. I love paper piecing.
