Default Card holder

Materials:
9 X 20 inch piece of fabric starched
1-piece of 3/4 inch wide Velcro measuring 1 and 1/4 inch long and cut in half lengthwise.
2- pieces of thin plastic cut 3 and 1/2 by 3 and 3/4 inches.I used a thin placemat from the $store but you could cut up a thin margarine top as long as your sewing machine needle can sew through it with the fabric. You can use Pellon iron on stiffener instead of the plastic if you prefer.

1.Make a paper pattern 9X20 inches and mark the fold lines with a pencil. Measure up at the 9 inch end at these intervals 2 and 1/2, 2, 1 and 3/4, 2 and 1/2, 1 and 3/4, 2 and 1/2. The last section should measure 4and 1/4 if you have drawn your lines correctly.
2.Fold your paper as indicated in the picture like an accordion with the first 2and 1/2 fold being a valley and so on. Your paper pattern should be exactly like the finished wallet with seam allowances extra.
Use your paper pattern to transfer the marks and folds to the wrong side of the fabric with a pencil.
3.Pin the folds at the edges and press in the folds with your iron.
4.Fold the 4and 1/4 inch piece down with right sides together stitch a 1/4 inch seam on both ends of the wallet and 1 and 1/4 inch in along the bottom edge. The middle of the bottom is left open to turn and put in the plastic pieces.
5.Clip off the extra fabric at the sewn corners and turn the wallet right side out.
6.Slid in the plastic pieces being careful to get them positioned at the back along the 4 side. Fold the wallet in half and mark the center for your center seam.
7.Start sewing at the bottom of the center seam and go up to the top and down to the bottom and start then 1/8 inch top stitching around the outside. I place the small lengths of Velcro in the center of the 4 inch sides and sew over it with the 1/8 in top stitching. I back stitch at beginning and end of each Velcro section. You may hear the needle sewing through the plastic, just go slowly.
Your wallet should be ready to use .
