Change the needle. Make sure the flat part of the new needle is against the flat part of the shaft. Check your manual for threading path. On a featherweight, if memory serves, one threads from the left of the needle eye to the right. Put one drop of oil on the needle bar, and while you are at it, one drop everywhere else metal meets metal but not on the gears. Gears get grease only.
