If you go in behind the latches and handle under the fabric you can close the split rivits and pull them out. All of the hardware and salvagable fabric can be used to restore other cases. In fact I need latches to repair a case at this time. Save everything you can you may need it in the future. On second thought are you sure the case is beyond restoration? Post picture and someone may help you with restoration of the case.
