I think your quilt is gorgeous! But I know what you mean. The 1st quilt I made was an Amish style 9-patch; black with beautiful scarlets, royal blues, and emerald greens - all quilted with crimson thread. I finished it, put it on my bed, and never wanted to lay eyes on it again. I found it darkened the room too much, and so my brother had a gift stitched with love for his Christmas present that year! Which meant my sister wanted one the following year.... I chose another pattern.
