The digitizing program isn't great, but if you only buy designs thats no big deal. Storage of pattersn is on you computer so if your computer crashes you loose your patterns if you don't have them backed up on a flash drive. Yep I lost several hundred dollars in patterns. The hoops are known for breaking or the screws getting stripped. I've not had any real problems with the machine itself. It's only been in the shop once in 6 years. And that was for a routine checkup and timing was off causing stitching issues. But that was because I crashed it several times and the needle would jam. Operator error cost me around $100 bucks. All in all its a good starter machine if you aren't wanting to do any thing fancy. For $300 I'd get it, but would make them show you that it works before buying, have them stitch out a design.
