I've sewn clothes for over 40 years but only quilting for the past six or seven. My first attempt at a quilt in still a WIP and in a plastic bin. My "avatar" is my second quilt and took my four years to finish. We moved from Oregon to Arizona and I had (to my dismay  ) packed my pattern layout away in storage so I had to recreate the layout from memory. And yes, there are mistakes but that makes it unique. I've made quilts for three of my four grandchildren and my youngest grandbaby's mommy want me to wait til he is older and can enjoy it more. The blue quilt I made last spring for my Lil' Mister (my middle grandson) and last fall I made a lap quilt for my husband's grandmother that is also pictured below. My kids have been bugging me for quilts - so maybe next Christmas they'll have warm ones under the tree. I've always loved the beauty of quilts and hope now that my home is an "empty nest" i'll be stitching up a storm. :-)
