I'm sorta a closet quilter; my oldest DD is a quilter and we share ideas/projects/stash a lot. I/we've taken a few classes at our LQS, which we've enjoyed. Every one there is very friendly and not just the staff. Most times anyone in the shop will talk/chime in on fabric we are considering/project working on and share their own. It's a great atmosphere.

The shop has classes/sew-ins/open sewing times, so I could go to those, but most times prefer not to. It's hard to schlep my machine down the stairs/put it in car/schlep it into store, and then reverse it when I get home. I'd rather spend the time in my own space with everything laid out in a way that is convenient for me.

I'm still working, though my hours have been cut, and find time is very precious to me. My work hours vary weekly, so don't know until a week in advance, when I'll be able to commit to anything.
