I have the older style Clover iron myself and LOVE IT. I've no desire to get the newer one because the iron does all I need it to do. I do know someone that has the newer one, and paid the big bucks for it, and she used the iron tip the most.

In my opinion, the only drawback is there is no guard on the barrel. I didn't purchase a stand for mine because I keep it in a coffee cup when in use and with the handle sticking up I don't worry about grabbing the hot barrel.

ps. love my clover iron and you wouldn't be able to tear it out of my cold dead hands!
