Wow...bit of a blast from the past....Here in Australia they were marketed as "Hobbytex" and they had parties...as slk350 mentioned. My Nan was very "into" it and had a special tin with the hoop as part of the lid. I liked it as a youngster, but I don't like the "stiffness" factor....which I also find with machine embroidered designs....so I stick to hand embroidery. Must admit though....it was colourful and fun....thanks for the trip down memory lane
