I think its not to bright to begin with and no where near gaudy. I am laughing however at the thought a quilt given to a seven year old will survive til she is thirty. The child is 7. She will not treat it as an heirloom and with many washes and much love it will get worn. If it does survive she will then treasure it for the memory of who made it and the years of use. My children have quilts they were made at children. My oldest now 27 as a very young boy wanted a jamaica colored quilt. I made it with REAL bright colors and offset it with blacks .. it is a bold bright quilt lizards yellows! bright greens! etc and you know he still loves it. the others love theirs too because of the memories. I think your safe. ps that is a gorgeous colored quilt.
