I don't think it was a matter of urgently needing the blankets. It was a matter of Project Linus asking local chapters if they had any to send. The response was quickly met in less than an hour. It's my understanding that Project Linus gives quilts to children who are ill, homeless, TRAUMATIZED. Certainly all the children in that school district were traumatized. I assumed from the Project Linus post I read that there are 700 children in that district and everyone of them has to be thinking it could have been their school.
