It is all dependent on how much work and effort you want to put into it. I just finished one up that is the shadow block setting that soccertxi just pictured and she is right, it does take quite a bit of figuring out to get everything to work but the results are special.

However, it goes much quicker if you cut all your blocks the same size and sash them. Even if your imprints are all over the place. I usually cut 12 1/2" blocks (to finish at 12"). sometimes a smidge of the imprint is cut off and other times I have a lot of blank space surrounding the imprint but overall it looks good.
