Here in the Rocky Mts. we also have beautiful snow. But it is light and fluffy for skiing. I grew up in the Midwest and remember the heavy, wet snow there. We kids thought it was great when the power went out and we gathered around the fireplace to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Our parents didn't think it was as much fun to try to do all the outside work wearing ice creepers on their boots. Grandma moved nearer the windows for light and draped a blanket around her feet for the cold, and sewed and sewed. How much easier we have it now. We can enjoy the beauty of the snow and pray for the safety of those out in it......oh, and please don't forget that animals feel the cold too. I help the animal shelter and winter is especially hard making sure all are sheltered.
